Mari Barrett is an award-winning stakeholder engagement strategist (aka, communications, public relations and marketing professional) and a practitioner of the human side of Knowledge Management.
My claim to fame: Getting a little-known trade association magazine a mention and an appearance on “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson, helping to create and bring to market five successful small business startups and collaboratively assisting in the launch of one sweetheart IPO.
On the personal side, I’m a Jersey Girl who has lived in numerous U.S. states before settling in SoCal, a mom to an awesome son (a young filmmaker) and caregiver to 12 special-needs felines. I’m an active cycler, hiker and runner. I love watching college baseball and (American) football when I have nothing else better to do. I’m an urban organic gardener and picky gourmet cook. I develop my own recipes. I wonder, so does that make me an eco-friendly food engineer?
I’ve blogged in the past, but let that effort fade away. Now, in the midst of social networking and citizen journalism, I am back to blogging again.
